Over a Century Of Experience

Over a Century of Experience The Dauphin County Bar Association is a professional organization of over 1500 attorney members that has been in existence in this region since 1898. The Association is proud to celebrate more than one hundred years of achievements on behalf of its membership consistent with the purposes expressed in its By-Laws:
 

"... to advance the science of jurisprudence, to promote the administration of justice, to encourage a thorough legal education, to promote continuing legal education, to uphold the honor and dignity of the Bar, to encourage the fulfillment of the obligations of the profession among its members, to the courts and to society, to promote programs to provide effective, affordable legal services to all segments of society, to cultivate cordial intercourse among the members of this Association and to perpetuate the history of the profession and the memory of its members...."

Our Bar Association undertakes numerous activities throughout the year that keep the members apprised of current developments in the law through Continuing Legal Education seminars and provides informational programming for the community in a variety of settings.

A very active Lawyer Referral and Pro Bono program assist citizens with access to justice in our community and work to overcome the unmet legal needs. In this regard, the DCBA is a statewide leader. Our members work to improve the profession, provide service to the community and are committed to extending this legacy of excellence into the future.
