Aaron S. Jayman is a partner in the Harrisburg office of Gordon & Rees and a member of the Healthcare and Professional Liability Defense practice groups. Mr. Jayman’s entire career has been devoted to insurance defense, including nursing home, medical and dental malpractice, premises liability and general liability. For the last two decades, Mr. Jayman has defended countless professional liability claims on behalf of hospitals, physicians, nurses, dentists and long-term health care providers.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Jayman served as an attorney at the Medical Professional Liability Catastrophe Loss Fund of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the predecessor to the Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error Fund. While there, Mr. Jayman oversaw excess and statutorily covered medical professional liability claims.
Mr. Jayman serves on arbitration panels for the Cumberland County court system hearing civil cases that fall under the county's mandatory arbitration rules. He has represented numerous health care providers in both the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies.

Thomas M. Chairs is a trial lawyer in the healthcare and commercial litigation practice groups of Gordon & Rees. Mr. Chairs is a partner of the firm with offices in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and is co-managing partner of the Harrisburg office.
Mr. Chairs counsels clients in complex litigation matters. Early in his career he assumed the role of lead counsel in major jury trial proceedings. Mr. Chairs has successfully tried cases to verdict in more than a dozen counties throughout Pennsylvania. Mr. Chairs has handled hundreds of litigated matters. His in depth experience in State and Federal Court serves as a fundamental advantage for clients in any civil dispute.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chairs has maintained a case load that includes representation of national, regional and closely held corporations. On the basis of his vast experience as a trial attorney, Mr. Chairs has been designated Board Certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Chairs works closely with self insured organizations predominantly in the health care field. Mr. Chairs’ representation of healthcare providers includes litigation and extends to counsel in licensing issues, compliance with governmental regulations, risk management and policy implementation. He regularly participates in the orientation of hospital personnel. Mr. Chairs also lectures on loss avoidance and best practices.
